Here is Fernando, from Speakeasy (the Employee’s Only bar owners’ book). We had some sickness in the family and this fernet-forward drink was perfect to slap the sickness out of them (that’s how it works, right?)

  • 1 ¼ oz Fernet Branca
  • 1 ¾ oz Cinzano Bianco Vermou
  • ¾ oz Galliano

Stir with ice, and garnish with an expressed sprig of mint.

    How critical is the Cinzano VS another vermouth? Always looking for Fernet cocktails to justify buying a bottle. Not sure I have seen Cinzano

      I would say it’s not that important; I didn’t have that particular bottle, so I substituted Dolin Blanc and it was delicious.

      When I post a recipe from a book, I usually post it as printed rather than whatever madness I had to do to make it!
