A Boston parking enforcement officer wrote ticket, after ticket, after ticket for vehicles double-parked on Boylston Street
Did they really though? Even if they’re actually ticketing that much, that many violations means something isn’t working.
Good.
Good.
Minzer-Cohen says she would like to find a better way for everyone to coexist without further clogging roadways, hindering businesses and residents alike. “We want to encourage them to come to Back Bay and not make it too hard to get here, and we are concerned that is going to happen,” she said. “We want to make sure it is not to the detriment of something that is very important to the city of Boston, the economic success of the downtown commercial district, and Back Bay.”
This is an idiotic take. Parking is already impossible to find as it is, I doubt anyone is driving to the Chipotle on Boylston for example - it’s all foot traffic.
Yeah, isn’t the best way to encourage visitation to have plenty of easy parking at the outer limits spots? eg, Alewife parking garage, Oak Grove, Riverside.
Granted, the T needs work. I’d rather focus on that than the lose/lose situation of fighting the car lane war in downtown.
Yes please, plus allow long term parking. I’m always annoyed this isn’t an option for the airport or Acela (although admittedly not the most convenient)
I’m all for making Boston more bike friendly.
This is good for everyone Cities should not be built for cars, they should be built for pedestrians and bikers and rails/trams.
