Does this even save any space? There are seats like this in low-floor city buses but that’s because it is impossible to place them in any other way due to wheels.
I guess people could stagger their legs?
They would have to, and it’s not very comfortable, not to mention it’s clear mutual personal space intrusion by strangers. In abovementioned buses, people always rather stand than sit on such seats.
