What did those people chant ?
This should set a good standard. Football or not in general mocking the death of another human being should never be tolerated.
Actually the most casual fanbase in all of football.
No one gives a fuck about City or the 15 fans they had pre-2008.
Lol, people itt are baying for the banning and censorship of fans for wrongspeak. We can’t seem to decide if we want to live in an Orwellian or Demolition Man inspired dystopia.
are chant agaisnt peoples banned in pl? or only against ded peoples? or only if the chants have certain words?
Of all the players to revel in one’s death, you pick on the classiest most gentleman footballer that probably ever played in England.
Absolute tossers.
I mean, they have no idea of what happened prior to 2010, so I can understand they have no idea who he is.
as if these clowns know that. they only know shit from YT
the country’s greatest ever footballer(with a claim to greatest english athlete)who played a key role in winning england its only world cup. real classy.
Never forget that Man City players and staff sang about Liverpool fans being “battered in the streets”.

The song was written shortly after Liverpool fan Sean Cox suffered life-altering injuries after being attacked in Rome. When confronted with this fact, what was City’s defence? They weren’t singing about Sean Cox, but rather they were singing about Liverpool fans being attacked by masked hooligans in Madrid (!)
So not only is the club built on financial doping, they’ve got a loooong history of being utterly classless. This horrible chant about Sir Bobby is just the most recent episode.
I think you’ve misunderstood, they didn’t intend offence and therefore it’s not offensive
Yeah. People didn’t hear the first line of their chant was “with all due respect” so it’s not offensive.
Such is the consequences of lack of parenthood and proper education. The result is cunts like that.
This sport is going downhill more and more everyday
Why would they do that tho? Aside from being idiotic dumb fks like if ur English why on earth would u talk crap about england arguably greatest talent ever
It was just some banter in poor taste. Doubt Sir Bobby would care. He’s heard much worse.
I suppose we can call down to your house and sing that song about someone close to you has passed away!! It’s just for the laugh!!
Truly. Who cares what some drunk kids chanted? They did one round and it died off because they realized people didn’t join in. They can do what they want as a club I guess, but I’m sure worse is said in the stands.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. These idiots had it coming.
Well done. I have to say that City have tended to be fairly lax on banning fans for this sort of thing, so hopefully this is a sign of change.
In fairness to them, it would be very awkward if they tried to ban their own players and staff from the Ethiad
Probably want to make a strong statement now with the game coming up to deter any incidents then when it’ll be higher profile.
I think they should be named and shamed once identified. Show these young POS the hard way that their actions do bear consequences and make them rethink if it was worth screwing up the rest of their lives now that no one will want to hire the disrespectful twats because they mocked someone who just passed.
Lol mate. Have you ever heard of virtue signalling?
If I had had the kind of talent and impact on a sport and a club as Bobby Charlton, I honestly think I’d be damn well pleased if said club’s rivals would be cheering my death for no other reason than the fact I was a great player, 50 years after I stopped playing.
No higher praise, in my book.
If he gets to be a hero to some for something as inconsequential and pointless as kicking a ball around its only fair he can be a villain to some as well.
The right response is ignoring it, taking it as light banter from rivals and total strangers who didnt personally know the man and moving on.
I hope they are ready to ban 90% of the league when Fergie dies.
Is it offensive? Who’s offended? Is it not more offensive to equate this to racism or homophobia?
