He played over 200 times for Madrid, theres not a lot of deception about his abilities on the pitch.

Manchester United fans were deceived by the signing of Raphael Varane, according to Gabriel Agbonlahor.

This is a TalkSport article whose main source is Gabriel Agbonlahor. Nobody at United thinks they were deceived and aren’t aware of his abilities.

And won quite a few trophies while being a starter. Obviously not a Man Utd quality player.

Idiotic pundits. Overall Varane has been very good for us when fit. Not always, but he’s had a fucking hell of a time with the entire defense and the cdm switching out every other game.

Yea, pretty obvious at this point that they base all their transfers on agents, media hype, and manager requests.

Simple as. Guys like Antony, Matic, Mihki are clear manager buys. Sancho, Pogba, etc. were media hype transfers.

Very few look like a part of a well-scouted, coherent, long-term plan.

Its a lot like what was happening at Arsenal during the dark days of Raul Sanllehi tbh, except this has been going on for 10+ years at ManU.

Sancho and Pogba were brilliant players at Dortmund and Juve (and Pogba was class for a while at United too). Dismissing them as media hype players is incredibly ignorant

Mount is a fantastic player, you could see his quality even in his short time here. It’s just the wrong fit. We already have Bruno, buying him just makes no sense.

I thought Mount was going to be a Bruno back-up until I saw the pricetag, ain’t no way that amount of money was gonna be spent on a backup unless he starts…

They’re already saying it, because they spent boatloads on a player they already have and he’s sitting on the bench. Idk who it is, or if this many people are collectively clueless, but Ronaldo at least made sense on a sentimental note, Mount wasn’t needed whatsoever and it makes no sense to have him.

he wasn’t even great at madrid. got saved by back line of ramos, marcelo and carvajal and casemiro doing lot of defensive work. he had issues at madrid as well. what was united even expecting to just get player without any research

Guy gets one hand ball and now he’s the problem. 😂. United are toxic and rotten to the core from top to bottom. Sad to see really

If Varane stayed, he’d still be a starter at Real Madrid. If he regressed that’s Man United’s fault, they didn’t sell a faulty product, Man United just didn’t know how to use him. Varane was one of the best center back.

Don’t remember all of this talk about Varane when United finished with the most clean sheets in the PL last season.

Yeah making fun of United and their scouting is fun, but it’s a bit of an overreaction considering the entire team is underperforming right now.
