Bonifatius casually hitting his enemies with half a forrest was hilarious. Silver cloth? Black weapons? No problem, I’ll just hit you with mother nature! >:D
Oh, you want to sneak through the forest? No, we’ll have none of that, we’ll just make that forest disappear. Have fun sneaking through completely open ground! ^^
Bonifatius is just based tbh
I love Bonifatius and also the misdirection where everyone thought he was going to swing his weapon at the invaders.
Brigitte chapter! She’s a badass. And her daughter’s name is Lilaroze! Wonder how she thought of the second half of that name. 😉
Hopefully the sewers Georgine are using don’t lead to that basement… Might be Game of Thrones all over again…
I felt so sorry for her the entire about 10 minutes she thought something bad happened to Rozemyne. Poor girl was fearing the worst meanwhile Rozemyne is just passed out in a bed in Ahrensbach
It was pointed out in the past, that rather than individual accesses to the sewers, the temple had a communal disposal spot in the courtyard, to which the attendants had to carry the chamer pots. And seeing how even the orphanage director’s chambers doesn’t have a toilet (it was mentioned that it was Delia’s job to empty Rozemyne’s chamber pot), there’s no way the basement of the orphanage would have one either.
The sewers might have been connected to the temple in the city remodeling in anticipation of large scale paper production. Not entirely sure if anything of the sorts was mentioned and even if it was I doubt Georgine would know about it (her information network inside the temple was likely cut off entirely before the city remodeling) but it’s an option nonetheless.
The blueprints for the sewer remodel were drawn up by Sylvester’s scholars, some of whom were in Georgine’s thrall, so presumably she can have a very accurate map. But… I suppose if Ferdinand did a final check & amended it to include the temple and then handed it directly to Sylvester, this scenario could happen. All that said, connecting the fresh water tunnel to the workshop wouldn’t exactly be a doorway, and while the tunnel is empty there’s no reason for any final connection at all.
Oh man, a Brigitte and a Philine POV. Always nice to see Brigitte; easily one of my favorite characters in Part 3.
Hoping we’ll get to see Georgine’s arrival in Ehrenfest next. Curious to see who’s perspective we get. Going to guess Damuel’s. Gonna guess one other, but no clue who that might be.
I think if we see a Damuel perspective it’s likely him aiding Gunther in defending a Gate or something, Damuel just guarding Myne’s family would be a short chapter and I don’t think Georgine has figured out which commoner family Rozemyne is from.
Considering how it took even Hartmut a lot of work and some educated guesses to even find out for sure that Rozemyne was a commoner, I’d say the likelyhood of anyone of Georgine’s subordinates within Ehrenfest sussing out Guther, Effa and Tuuli as her family is minimal I think.
Now her connection to the Gilberta and Plantin companies on the other hand… It would hardly be the first time, someone mistook Myne/Rozemyne for Benno’s daughter.
I am so incredibly hyped for what’s to come. Both because I know what’s going to happen but also because I can’t wait to re-read it in proper english
Philine - Just Like the Simulations
Georgine better watch those wrist
rocketsshumilu/quof memeing in the translations is great to see
I wonder if Effa and Gunther are finally going to tell Kamil the truth. He’s supposed to be a smart boy, so them receiving special treatment in the form of Damuel guarding them personally will likely cause him to wonder what’s going on and maybe ask some pointed questions.
Maybe. I kind of got the impression that Damuel would be guarding not only Myne’s lower city family, but all the commoners Rozemyne gave a crested feystone which would make it less suspicious.
I don’t understand the purpose of the barrier magic tool in the Philine chapter. Wouldn’t silver cloth just negate it?
Presumably someone fully encased in silver cloth, wouldn’t be able to use any magic either, so if Georgine comes at them with silver cloth, she won’t be able to get past the physical door. And if she takes off her silver cloth to deal with the door, the barrier will make sure they won’t be blasted to bits by whichever attack takes out the door and hopefully buy enough time for knights to react to the commotion.
Sure against a determined attack, the barrier won’t hold for long (especially with how it was charged by two people with mana capacities of lower-end med nobles), but Georgine is in a hurry, so just a small speedbump in and off itself might already be the difference between her tackling a potential inconvenience immediately or bypassing it for now on her way to the foundation.
And even if it’s entirely ineffective, it at least helps to keep the people inside of it calm and out of the way, should a fight between Georgine and some knights break out, if nothing else.
Plus by using a barrier the opposing side is easier tricked into believing they haven’t figured out the silver’s properties yet.
