Been eyeing this with my mates but haven’t copped due to price. Are performance issues as bad as recent releases?
The game isn’t as bad as, say, Jedi: Survivor, but the overall performance isn’t great.
It’s designed to be run with up scaling on, which is a shame.
Either way, amazing game.
Ah, shame. Think I’ll wait on performance patches. I got no problems running it but I’d rather not buy something not up to basic specs.
They just made a post yesterday promising performance patches, but I think it’s important to understand the issues I mentioned won’t be fixed.
Frame drops and stuttering? Sure, they can fix that.
Designing your rendering system and performance targets around the use of DLSS/FSR? That won’t change. Blame the PS5 and new Xbox for that. A lot of AAA games are going to be like that for a while.
Yeah, I’m aware of the latter. Wish studios would stop using advancements in tech to cover up deficiencies in optimization.
It’s not that simple. Games are bigger and more complex than ever, and studios/publishers/VCs are pushing devs to release earlier and earlier.
As long as the majority of players see it as acceptable (which, sadly, is true), developers will utilize whatever they can to deliver on time.
Note: Even though I’m making points to the contrary, know that I’m on your side. I dislike FSR and DLSS. (at least in any profile beneath Balanced)
It’s been running great for me (3080), but I left everything on default. The only issue we’ve had is the game has crashed for one of our party about 4 times when going through doors. It’s saved progress all but one of those crashes.
Overall, it feels like Remnant 1.5 - same generally loop and just a bit more polished. But that’s great. It’s exactly what I wanted.
I’m just a bit worried my 2070 will choke a little in the more demanding areas. I’ve seen it can get quite chaotic and that’s when it gets worse.
The Shroud effect.
The what?
Shroud is a twitch streamer, he’s been playing it recently.
Sure, that no doubt helped. But it’s a cult game that’s quite well designed. I’d say that’s 80% of it.
