This fix should fix some our federation problems hopefully. Please let me know if you see any issues and ESPECIALLY let me know if this seems to fix some of the federation issues we have been having. It may take some time for federation to catch up and I’m not 100% sure older posts and votes will catch up. I’m hoping that going forward, this fix will get us going.
Thanks,
w0odl
Massive. Thank you for the update and linking to the release notes.
Something still not quite right. This post has one reply, but I cannot see it.
Similarly my podcast post has a reply, but I can only see it in my Inbox, but I cannot reply to it.
Maybe a cache thing? I’m seeing 2 comments on your post and both comments here.
I can see this reply in both my Inbox and below this post, but the two replies to my post only show in my Inbox.
I’m using “Connect” Version 1.0.177 on Android 13.
I’ve cleaned the “Connect” cache, tried “refresh”, not sure what I’m missing.
Hmmm not sure about the app. Does it work in browser?
The plot thickens.
On the web, if I’m NOT logged in, I see both replies to my post.
BUT…
If I’m logged in as me, they’re not visible.
I don’t know what might cause something like that.
So, I’m seeing votes and replies appearing, which means that more is working.
The two DM I sent to and from Mastodon have not arrived.
Accessing my Lemmy profile from Mastodon shows some posts, but not the most recent ones and the number of posts changes between 9 and 10 - there’s 10 - but only 6 are actually visible, the most recent one is 14 days ago.
Language is set to “undetermined” as recommended by the website.
I still cannot see (or reply) to replies to my post when I’m logged in. They appear as a count and in my inbox, but I can’t do anything with them, since they vanish as soon as I attempt to reply.
Interestingly, this post seems to work fine and I can reply and use Mastodon and the numbers seem to add up.
Is there anything else I can assist with?
If I look at my profile on Lemmy from a mastodon instance, using a mastodon client, the newest post I can see from me here is 13 days old, but I can see some of the comments made here today.
@vk6flab@lemmy.radio @w0odl with a little bit of luck and fingers crossed, this reply from Mastodon should show up on Lemmy.
Fingers crossed, this reply, coming from Lemmy, will show up on Mastodon.
@vk6flab@lemmy.radio okay, that proves that two way synchronisation is working.
Whoot!
That doesn’t mean I’ve figured out why comments show up on the web interface when I’m not logged in, but vanish as soon as I’m authenticated.
Could it be the language setting? https://lemmy.world/post/1617579
I cannot set it to anything other than “undefined”, or whatever that label is. I’m not near my computer at the moment so I’m going from memory.
I was trying to see if some setting may prevent it but didn’t see anything. Also spent some time looking at GitHub issues as well but nothing caught my eye. Not sure where to go about testing this.
My testing was in two virgin browser windows, new (disposable) profile, no cookies, no cache, no extensions. Went to lemmy.radio in both and logged into one of them. My settings were loaded, dark mode enabled, comments gone.
As far as finding a cause, the closest I came was a ticket early to mid last year that was talking about sorting by anything other than Hot causing issues. I had my settings set to New, but changed them to Hot, for both Posts and Comments, no difference.
Not sure what to try next.
My historic posts (between 13 days ago and today) are still not visible on Mastodon.
I’m wondering if my account is corrupted in some way.
I’ve also just attempted to send a direct message from Lemmy to Mastodon and Vice Versa, neither is visible on the other platform.
