This is how I use a #TrolleyNeedle as a #LayingTool while #Railroading in #CrossStitch . I apologize I couldn’t do a longer video than about two stitches–it told me my video was too large to upload otherwise.
I can’t really tell what it is you’re doing from the video. Could you explain what I’m seeing here?
Is this mostly to ensure that the two threads don’t twist and that they end up laying side by side, or is there a less apparent purpose?
@Fermion Yes. A #TrolleyNeedle is a type of #LayingTool, though the manufacturer says it can be used for other purposes too. In #CrossStitch, a laying tool is used to make sure stitches lay flat. I use mine to help me catch knots starting to form as I’m #Railroading stitches so the don’t get unmanageable. I also feel that they look much nicer combining the Railroading with the use of the trolley needle.
