You think I didn’t read a book titled Zoey is too Drunk for this Dystopia? Just look at my name! In all seriousness, I really enjoyed the first two but haven’t read the latest one yet. I need to be in the right place mentally to read those for the first time.

I’m so ready for I’m Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom. It looks like a lot of fun.

Anyone stopping by this thread, go check out his work.

I just read that book last week it was excellent. And yes I am excited about that new book already have it pre ordered. I love his writing going all the way back to his days at Cracked.

Is it possible that I read this before it became a book. It was published on some site chapter by chapter?

My favorite part was David Wong did a reddit AMA as PR for the movie, and then kept using it.

And it wasn’t one of those things where he was cool and just popped up, he was actually insane.

You’d just randomly see the account pop up and then could catch up on all the crazy you missed.

I always wanted the book sequel made into a movie too tho

Yeah. He always reminded me of Philip K. Dick. Or maybe even Hunter.

Dude isn’t well mentally, and I feel sorry for him. But the art he produces is amazing.

I hope he finds a balance

I’d also love to see the first book revisited as like, a 3-4 part mini-series… Give us all the story-lines.

You know, I used to hate on the movie more than it deserved… Thought it was an terrible interpretation of the book…

However, Jason Pargin himself has come out saying that the movie reinvigorated his writing career, and we wouldn’t have gotten any of the other books, or the zoey series, or anything else without the movie…

I’ve cut the movie a ton more slack since. :P

Given the budget they had to work with, it was as faithful an interpretation as you were going to get. I enjoyed it on the same level as I might enjoy “Are You Afraid Of The Dark” episodes.

But it pales in comparison with the book series. The Lovecraftian vibe you get in some of those chapters is chilling in a way a goofy Evil Dead styling just can’t deliver.
