Knife sharpening is not an obscure or obsolete skill where I am. I believe that every guy I know has some sort of set up for it - even if it’s just a commercial Vee pull sharpener.
It amazes me how many people I know who prepare food with blunt knives.
I live in a place where we still rough sharpen shovels.

Automatic knife sharpeners that aren’t utter garbage knife ruining devices are very expensive. A whetstone and learning to use it is much cheaper.
Nah, that’s for fancy lads. Real man sites have something about normal toilet paper not being good enough and you need these tactical ass wipes. Everything is tactical. Tactical socks, tactical ink pens, tactical fucking seat covers for your car.
