You’ve probably already gone through a night by now but I found that after getting pain and/or tingles in my lower back from doing double heavy shifts in my internship, putting an extra pillow either under the arch of my back, or between my knees if sleeping on my side, did a lot to make it hurt less both while trying to sleep and when waking up.

Gloves are your friends. At work we sell about 5,000 in a year’s time and I always wear gloves when handling it.

    Allen Edmonds are the goat

Unloading bails of hay is no fun. I did it for a summer once at a cousin’s farm and after the first hour with no gloves I had to have someone find me gloves because I was getting deep cuts in my hands. They almost didn’t know where their gloves were because their hands were so calloused from the years and years of doing this kind of work during the summer.

    Godspeed in your recovery, comrade!

The worst part of bailing hay for me is that it makes me SO DANG ITCHY

    I don’t develop a rash unless I scratch and I want to scratch SO BAD 😔 😒
