A U.S. judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit in which the founder of WallStreetBets, which helped ignite investors’ fascination with “meme” stocks, accused Reddit of wrongly banning him from moderating the community and usurping his trademark rights.
Dismissed =/= reddit won anything
Yes it does, when the court dismisses a case, it’s equivalent to the case failing in that court. Reddit won by default.
It’s actually the clearest victory you can get, as the court deems there are absolutely no grounds for the case against reddit.
That’s it it’s dismissed with prejudice.
For those interested, the case is Rogozinski v Reddit Inc, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, No. 23-00686.
Lmao I’m not surprised that a wallstreetbets mod thought a subreddit’s name is a trademark.
I hate reddit but love internet janitors taking fat Ls
I moderated the /r/amc sub that was utterly inundated with WSB dipshits that couldn’t read a sidebar to save their lives. Fuck everything about WSB and this asshat. Hopefully they get him to pay their legal expenses and maybe get to kick him in the nuts.
I remember reading that guy’s AMA. He had some… interesting ideas.
