Wow one whole year huh. I appreciate having an excellent admin like you. Excited to see where Lemmy and .zip are in another year.
Just a refugee

The pipe comic with Garfield was also likely referencing a famous Magritte painting.
The painting is a kind of play on self-reference
Meme-ception for sure
Definitely a huge overlap but mostly just because these are classic and great tropes from English-language literature. I doubt Dune was a major inspiration for WOT.
Aes Sedai - Bene - Moirai/Weird Sisters Moiraine is literally named after the Moirai
Paul/Rand are regular chosen ones with the foreign savior theme of Lawrence/Heart of Darkness added on for good measure
Power creep and all but I genuinely doubt this will see any play in the formats it’s legal in. It’s miles behind Ragavan on its own and the archetype this fits in is go wide aggro, which loses to the exact board wipes that deal perfectly with this army in a can type card. Playing three of these by turn two and pumping out three extra bodies EOT can win a game of modern but that is not always going to happen.
Yes it looks like it would but it will still never tap for 2.
This is actually cool to see. I definitely noticed the basics used in the Analyst matchups but didn’t keep track of the others. Those Euro promos have got to be some of my favorite basics
I recommend pothos as well. Snake plant or some other can be as easy but I just like how leafy a pothos can be.
Another BFO! Why does it seem like every fish owl is named after something starting with B?
Yeah this caught me off guard too now we’re getting dev diaries for EUV. Must be different teams
Nice write up! Dwarves are cool. Rock and stone to the bone! Were you inspired by the Minotaur set review person?
These data are used for lots of stuff, including guaranteeing rights for protected classes, which in the US includes race.
For example, you could use this info to prove that a redistricting is racist and illegal by showing that it unfairly groups areas of certain ethnicities into one district. Without official census data that includes race, anti-discrimination legislation would be harder to enforce in the courts.
I know the band but never heard about the soccer team. That’s really interesting stuff - also I’d guess Kaizer is another form of Caesar making the full name practically nonsense.
These are some excellent photos. Thanks for posting!
Actually pretty wild. This is only the second unconditional black wrath printed for 5 mana or less. And it even has upside. There is arguably better black mass removal but this is simple and should have a lot of demand in Commander at least.
Yeah I was referring to the Hammerskull. It can block all it wants and attack normally a lot of the time. Even the drawback is minor for how absurd those stats are.
Absolutely love that they are adding to the hunted cycle. Those cards are sweet! This feels like it could have been more powerful, now that green is getting 3 mana 6/6s with barely any downside. Also there’s that existing black 6/4, Heavy something
When they release the Mole God! (Maro’s teaser said there is a Mole God in this set)
Love the flavor. When it turns out your friend was a sword in a trenchcoat the whole time
I for one am pretty into them making various versions of Evolving Wilds going forward. I always like seeing the new version of Threaten each set and this might become similar.
Nice. Definitely down to work on the .zip logo again. We were pretty prominent last time, though if Mastodon gets involved, this year will be totally different
