  • I doubt there will be an election in Nov. trump & co. couldn’t be telegraphing their punches any more than they already are…

    • Start a boondoggle of a war with Iran.
    • Spread speculation that Iran will retaliate against the US on American soil.
    • Launch a false flag attack on a predominantly blue state in the months leading up to the elections, blame Iran to garner support for ongoing maga “leadership.”
    • Postpone the elections indefinitely in the aftermath of the “attack.”

Of course, I don’t 100% believe this is the case, but I would not be surprised if it happened. They really are that inept and corrupt.

  • Man, I’ve been on the “internet” since before it had pictures or videos or sound . When each “website” was a different phone number, and if more than a few people were visiting it, you had to wait and call back later. Just to read in green (or amber) text on a black screen, someone’s comments on some old post, and weeks & weeks of comment threads.

    It was amazing.

Am I upset about the state of the internet today? Not really. It’s evolving, getting worse in some ways, better in others. I’m still interested to see what it grows into. I have my own hopes as to what it will become, but I’m sure I’ll be surprised at the direction it takes.

I have a friend like that. He didn’t vote for Harris because she “has an annoying voice.” When I remark how trump is turning this country into a fascist nightmare, he say “I don’t care about that political shit.” …and then he bitches about how hard is to get an appointment at the VA, how little his tax return is, and how much gas costs suddenly.

  • Imagine having a gas station at home in your garage (assuming you own a house). Every time you’re home and your car is sitting in the garage (which is most of the time for most people), the “gas station” is slowly feeding “gas” into your car. You never even have to go to a real gas station, except on long trips (200+ miles).

I plug my EV in at home on the weekends. It charges overnight. Monday, I drive it to work (30 miles) and if there’s a charger available there, I charge it up for free. Over the 8 hours I work, the car charges up enough to refill both the trip to work plus enough for the trip home. If all I’m doing is to/from work, I don’t even have to plug in at home on weekdays.

I barely pay for fuel at all. I never have to stand at a gas pump in the freezing cold.

If I’m ever running low on charge (rare) I can find a charging station OR use the emergency plug-in charger & extension cord I keep in my frunk at any available outlet anywhere in the country. I’ve never had to use it, but I have it.

For me, an EV was the best option. I’ll never go back to an IC car.
