I think humanity (or at least western society) is currently in a self hatred phase.

We are nitpicking completely normal things about being human and desparetly trying to get rid of them even when we like the outcomes of the flaws.
Can’t be emotional, can’t be old, can’t be ugly, can’t be hyper but can’t be still. Just shared judgement on everything and everyone and shame to get rid of it forever.

Thats a really fucked up story.
