Currently dating somone for about a year this month, I’ve talked about my long term plans being to move away from the city and live in the middle of nowhere and be more self sufficient, , she said she thinks she could adjust and it sounds nice to have the space. I’m just not sure she fully grasps what it would mean.

I’d also like to add im not talking about Gung go off grid, I’d be more normal, but it would be a small house, wood heat, owning some animals to eventually harvest, primarily living and developing and maintaining a 40 somewhere VS going out with friends every week for drinks and such. We would have plenty adequate solar, well, septic. In the long term we would have a reasonably normal house.

We would also likely be moving 1.5-2 hours away from here to do this near a small town VS large metro.

I don’t want to scare her away all at once, but be able to explain more what it would be like and maybe replicate some of the activities to give her a taste up front.
