It’s honestly a replacement for broadcasting television with flimsier policies on ad revenue and data collection.

Most content creators are basically making weekly shows as if they were public broadcast now and everyone else is filling the platform with stuff that is meant to be able to put on the background suck as show reruns and long form compilation albums and stuff.
Right back to broadcast television just can’t use an antenna you need Internet and your watching habits and addictions are even more profitable than the shows.

Edit: oh and weirdly also open source tutorials, though I mean look at Bob Ross. Not a huge difference.
