- Joplin - note taking
- PowerShell - command-line shell and scripting language
- PowerToys - various utilities

Notepad++ - lightweight feature rich tabbed notepad
Wireshark - packet capture. Note for you programmers, it’s not the network. Your app just has shit performance.
HyperV - general compute virtualisation free* with windows 10/11
GNS3/eve-ng - networking specific virtualisation
Putty - ssh to stuff
Winscp - SCP to servers for file transfer.
Windows subsystem for Linux - run a Linux kernel in windows for testing Linux stuff like Ansible.
Python - multiplatform scripting and the base for so many automation tools.
Those are just off the top of my head
Also Firefox. Because chromium based web browsers/webapps are basically spyware.
All great ones here! PuTTY is a real classic. :)
