You can’t say the same for the Women’s World Cup. There’s actually a TikTok of a few women at an Angel City game and they set out to find a straight female fan at the game (spoiler alert: they eventually succeed only for that straight woman to come out of the closet by the next time they run into her around a year later).
This also doesn’t touch on the media. Many of the leading journalists covering the women’s game are members of the LGBTQ+ community. Are they going to Saudi Arabia to cover the tournament?
