This is typical of Windows in general. You are basically a guest in your own computer, asking for permission to do something from Microsoft, or in this case, Nvidia.

Why in hell would you want to end a driver install? Do you want your PC to break?
Let’s say it was stuck for 24 hours. At that point do you just decide to let the installer win? Try to keep it running as long as possible without ever restarting or trying to stop the installer?
Why you wanna stop it? Are you follower of the BSOD king?
If there’s anything outputting on your monitor, it’s done enough. Everything after is bloat.
