Fun fact: i ate ensaymada once without knowing it was wayy past its edible date.

      Still alive (and a dumbass).

I don’t understand why people enjoy eating this. And, for the love of good food, don’t watch this while eating/planning to eat.

It’s not as bad as some other food I’ve seen, but more on genuinely curious, as the video would say it is the world’s most dangerous

      spoiler

      Cheese

Methinks the appeal of that cheese (outside its hometown) is purely for novelty. So you can hang it on your wall like a kill and say I did that.

Kinda like how people try to fish for Salema porgy just to experience the infamous high. Or that song bird that you eat in a restaurant with a table cloth over your head.

TIL people can get high on fish. I do see the appeal for novelty. But to have casu marzu as a staple? Aw hell naw. I’ve seen too many films and IRL maggots to disassociate it from culinary nirvana.

Then again, if this was a one time dare, I’d probably say aye. LOL

I think I’ve read somewhere that if you want to remove the maggots from that cheese, you’re to put it onto a paper bag and then shake them off. And shake it off until no maggots fall off.

So I guess the idea is to starve them of air, then have them fall off.

I’d actually welcome the opportunity to try it, especially the way the natives over there enjoy it.

Ah, yes, called it! It’s that thing.

I’m actually amazed at their reasoning: It’s perfectly edible because it’s actually being eaten! If it’s already truly bad, then nothing will eat it!

Like, I get it, but also, wtf.

Not a food, but the culture, hobby or whatever: MUKBANG

I don’t know why many Filipinos enjoyed it, and its ASMR doesn’t entertain me, in fact it’s disgusting.

I usually have a “don’t knock it until you try it” stance when it comes to food, but… okay, this is a stretch, but meal replacement drinks.

I don’t think people enjoy it. I don’t think anyone would really opt for it instead of a, IDK, freshly cooked lechong paksiw over steaming hot rice or whatever tempting meal of your imagination.

I just can’t comprehend it. Why would anyone enjoy it, masochism? a desire to achieve the ultimate in asceticism? an acquired taste?

Not to mention that they’re horribly overpriced and a bit of a scam, lol. You can get the same amount of calories from quality mass gainers for the fraction of the price and chugging it at a quicker rate because it (usually) tastes good.

Plus, you can tailor it to your use case. If you want to slim down or just have the equivalent of a decent meal, then mix it with water and take just one scoop. For bulking, blend with milk, peanut butter, egg whites, etc.

I almost forgot about the ridiculous price of those. Naka-1k ata ako for one week’s worth ng ganun? Napa-oo na lang ako kasi nahihiya ako sa nag-benta sa akin.

This is the soylent stuff, right? I dunno man, ever since I’ve seen the “soup” eaten on the Matrix, I said to myself to never just go full meals on juice. There’s just something about being able to chew and enjoy your food (as well as the variety). I get it, it has everything the body needs, but tasting the way we want it? surely there’s no harm in adding that (most of the time).

EDIT: That being said, I’ve had a ton of fun preparing oat meal in various ways (sweet, savory, wtf, etc.)

It takes a hell of an effort to mix properly, it tastes horrible (and you’re discouraged from adding sugar into the mix, only fruits if you have access to a blender), and it has an icky texture.

Yeah, it’s worse than it sounds.

Why not just blend fruits then if there’s already access to a blender, at least that’s soothing and delicious. I swear some people just create the most nonsensical stuff just for the heck of it.

You know the explanation I got when I asked a similar question? Nutrients. Kesyo ma-kukumpleto daw nung drink na yun yung nutrients na nakukuha mo from food. It’s also part of a pretty low-calorie diet (aimed for losing weight), so I don’t think taste is of particular importance when making it.

Good morning guys, I don’t have Facebook anymore so just wanna ask if Threads and Egg Party(which PaoLUL played) is popular right now?

Threads is becoming popular among users because of Twitter’s reading limits implemented by Musk. However, there are other users switching to alternatives like Blue Sky and Mastodon.

Meta’s ‘friendly’ Threads collides with unfriendly internet

“If an account or server, or if we find many accounts from a particular server, is found violating our rules then they would be blocked from accessing Threads, meaning that server’s content would no longer appear on Threads and vice versa,” she said.

“With federation, the metadata that big platforms use to tie accounts to a single actor or detect abusive behavior at scale aren’t available,” said Stamos. “This is going to make stopping spammers, troll farms, and economically driven abusers much harder.”

I like how Meta (and an ex-Meta) is framing interoperability with the fediverse that they are the ones that’s potentially going to be the problem, lol.

I decided to deactivate my Threads account. Yes, I know it’s still there and I can’t delete it. But at least it’s away from public view.

Nakakairita how the influencers/celebrities inorganically generate engagement by posting dumb questions… which then gets recommended to me. Balik Mastodon na lang ako where it’s peace and quiet.

On the fence with deactivating threads, as (thankfully) influencers haven’t spilled over their junk content threads onto mine.

But with the fediverse coming extremely close to threads, i might deactivate soon without even so much of a “hello who’s there” post on threads lmao

I sometimes wonder if desalination is a viable solution to our water problems.

But then again, it might be more cost-effective to just build more dams to store water during the rainy season.

Why do websites insist on using this font (Roboto, I think)? It’s very hard to read.

It’s also the font on our ModMail, which explains why I often do not check our inbox.

Personally I prefer Archivo Regular 400 and upwards and depending on use case, point size of the type can vary. The light versions are too thin imho. Futura and I do have some saved font collections but i forget the names. As long as the spacing between letters is good (aimed for readability, not for Taylor Swift quotes, with no attack on Taylor herself), shapes easily contrast from the background, provided that proper color is used too. Eh, but I’m just mindlessly rambling at this point lmao.

Also, the all white and thin font is painful to look at (sorry). No option to customize to a high-contrast layout option? Me thinks Roboto would do well say in a dark background and neon colored font (thank you Microsoft VSC)

Capriola and Montserrat used to be my go-to body fonts when I was still blogging. Granted, the audience was just me, but I thought it was very legible and looks good on a wall of text.

Not something I would use on a formal document, however.

I’ve seen design guides recommending Roboto as a body text font for whatever reason. I’d admit it looks “good”, but at the cost of legibility (same as Calibri). But if I want it to be “clean-looking” as well as legible? Good old trusty Arial is there. Though I would just usually stop thinking and just use Noto Sans, lol!
