Barca is like playing FIFA irl , literally just spawns academy players , makes them debut , and have instant results.

Barca looked a completely different side, and I’m unsure what changed. I was so extremely skeptical of them after that first-half display, but they came out swinging, and could’ve had a barrage of goals.

I was positively surprised by Guiu as well. He didn’t have too many chances to impress, but he scored that crucial goal, and I enjoyed his very positive playstyle. Excited to see more.

Romeu slows things down, his awareness of the pitch is relatively small and takes a bit of time to expand when he’s facing away from the opponent’s goal. When he doesn’t get the chance to see and settle because he got pressured immediately, you see him apparently needlessly holding the ball up protecting it and risk losing the ball on Barca’s side of the pitch. (If you keep an eye out on it, you will notice moments like these happening too often, it will appear like he’s inviting pressure for no reason and not playing the ball away, it’s because he’s unsure of doing anything)

Now I also notice his defenders and keeper being a extra wary of passing to him if he doesn’t have way more space, because he turns slow and makes decisions slow.

He works best letting Frenkie do the attacking part of the job.

Barca’s midfield was kind of shaky, it didn’t seem like the midfielders were on the same page. Their defence was pretty good in the second half, especially after Araujo came on. I’m convinced that Joao Felix is just an average player, he has skill but usually has low football IQ.

Bilbao were mostly solid, they just were not great at anything. Their offside trap was not good.

??? His decision making under pressure in the final third was top tier this match

Joao Felix was MoTM, what a performance by him.

Martinez had a really good game. His forward passes were on point today and one of them made the goal possible.

Happy for Guiu, it must feel like heaven.

Love to see Felix thriving under a real team. Would be great to see Barca make whatever moves necessary to keep him.

At some point in the last couple of seasons I remember we had a game where Sergio Roberto and Jordi Alba were the only La Masia graduates in the match day squad. La Masia looked well and truly done for.
