So… Suspended 41 games. Possibly a blessing in disguise, but wtf happened? Had to be betting on his own games, right? Anything less, and the punishment seems too harsh.

Didn’t they say he wasn’t actually betting? If that’s the case, maybe he was trying to throw the games?

Friedman says the NHL found no evidence of betting on hockey. On the other hand, he also said something about proxy betting, which could mean a few things, including possibly having someone else betting for him. Hard to speculate, but that’s what the internet is for.

Irregularities with his account. Maybe someone else has access to his account and was betting on hockey?

Yea. On the surface that doesnt sound too crazy. Pinto has cash but no time, has a friend who knows sports and likes betting, Pins gives him some cash to play for him…doesnt sound so different than using a financial advisor to invest your money for you.

But i suppose since hes in the league there is a conflict of interest for sure if buddy was betting on hockey.

41 games with no fight from nhlpa or pins makes it seem like it was something pretty bad. Doubt we’ll ever know for sure.

Yeah, almost immediately after I posted, Friedman cleared up some things. This suspension length seems outrageous.
