As soon as I saw the Orthworm Titan in Violet, this idea immediately came to mind and now it’s all I can think about whenever I see this Pokémon.

He’s growing on me. He may even find a permanent place in my team this generation, though I find myself deviating from my normal type spreads… I usually try to get either a pretty even balance, or I end up with all bug pokemon (it’s my favorite type, I just gravitate to them naturally lol) but this generation I have somehow ended up mostly with Ghosts. 😅

I’ve got Brambleghast, Ceruledge, Houndstone, and Dreepy, plus Meowscarada and Orthworm. My team comp is 66.6% Ghosts.

He’s falling behind in terms of offensive stats, but his defense has come in clutch a few times. He, uh… Unfortunately finds himself on the field of battle frequently in “oh shit, I need a revive” moments, which don’t happen often but on the rare occasion he’s a very reliable tank.

Outside of that, not anything I would consider especially memorable. I just think his dumb face is cute.

        I’ve had my Orthworm moment.

I went after the Quaking Earth titan. Orthworm was on my team essentially to leech EXP, being ~10 levels below the rest of my Pokémon at the time. Everyone else fainted, so in went the worm so I could toss a revive on one of my stronger 'mons, and… Wait, the titan did how little damage to this goofy fucker?

Orthworm basically single-handledly bodied that titan for me. He made it to the Elite Four, lol. Long live the Orthworm!
