EDIT: the landscaping is paid for by the developer so this is why I am sticking with this tradie! It is also a small company.
So I (25 f) moved into my newly built house a month ago.
I really struggled to get the fencing completed - I called weekly for 5-6 weeks, he kept saying “next week.” I ended up having my dad call which is when I heard this tradie’s tone of voice completely change, he was obviously a little intimidated, a lot more quiet and monosyllabic, and he actually set a date and finished the job.
Recently, I have been struggling with organising the landscaper. It has been 7 weeks of making contact. He initially said mid October. The past 3 weeks he has said he will do it “next week.” He has admitted he prefers to do jobs in an area when multiple jobs are ready, I told him this is understandable but I need my landscaping done. He has agreed on a day, but he agreed before fully knowing my address, and he has agreed for a Friday and said “possibly.”
What do I do if he does not show up? Is there a way to ensure that he sticks to his word? Is there a specific way of speaking to tradies or do I have to get a male to speak with them? Do I entice them with beer ?? Please help.
