Seems like no one can figure it out. Usually people can derive the formula for stuff before jagex releases anything about it (i.e. DT2 bosses). For this, it seems like no one can figure it out.

I’ll add my experience to the data set. I played for about 5 hours straight yesterday and did not get caught once. I logged off for about 15 mins, came back, and I was getting caught about half the time. I gave up and figured I’d see what happened if I came back the next day. Today, I am getting caught basically every time, while I see hundreds of people run past me. Nothing changed at all on my end. Same client, same wifi, no VPN, etc. I can’t even say that the server chooses someone and they get caught every time, because for a while I was making it through half the time easily. Whatever the process for choosing the person who gets tagged, its one of the most difficult to discover things we have in OSRS. It’s obviously not random, because the same people seem to get caught every time, but who it chooses and when is so weird. Would love for a mod to explain all this because its bizarre.
