So I finally mustered the confidence to ride my fixed gear (with a front brake) to work today. Everything that’s been said about it —- flowy riding, forcing sharper situational awareness, etc —- is finally making sense to me! It seems like this is going to be the go to daily commuter from this point on.

A quick question: how tight do the pedal straps need to be? Mine generally has some slack to it that allows for easy in/out but it can be a bit more difficult to do skid stops and to some extent, backpedaling.

Any advice in terms of the ideal pedal strap tightness for daily commute? Thanks!
