What gears would you consider being popular in the past but fell out from interest?
This question comes to be just right after I visited a local used gear shop. The shop has been here for decades and most of the photographers know the shop keeper as well. He is already too old and now closed his old shop and moved to a smaller shop nearby.
Honestly, I don’t think he could continue in next 10 years.
That was a real touching when I saw the gears, especially some of the shrink wraps has been yellowed and dusted, Like ,
- Metz , Sunpak flashes, it was once a proof of pros and now no longer interested by the the pros , , extension PC cords, and variable hot shoe
- camera’s motor drives,
- leather cases,
- pro light meters (Gossen, Minolta, Pentax),
- bulk film loader & empty film loaders,
- foldable slide magnifiers
- projectors,
- filters, e.g colour correction, special effect, close up
- grey cards,
- retouching inks
- heat drying plates and drums
- long-exposure timer with shutter release
- film leader template
- copy stand and lighting
That makes me think, what else has been fell out of interest unawarely?
