My bosses were too busy partying and not responding, by the time they became available again they were already ready to let me go. They fired me instead of obtaining the work from me first. Do I still have to give it to them? Personal issues that were (imo) completely blown out of proportion heavily influenced the decision and while it is petty and immature… I just really don’t want them to have my work. I worked hard on it and they made it clear that they saw me as a useless employee. They can easily do it themselves (it’s time consuming, not difficult) so I see it as me inconveniencing them.

These would have been great work connections to keep but after working with them for so long and things ending like this & multiple instances of traumatizing mistreatment over the years… I kind of feel like I would rather finally burn the bridges, start over, and move on

I wasn’t sure how to properly articulate this in my initial post but I’m mostly confused because there was nothing in writing, nothing signed. We verbally agreed on the type of work I would be doing (a rather unclear verbal contract), but specifics beyond that were pretty much up for me to decide.

While working on this project alone there were several instances of being unpaid for work as well as more instances (with evidence still) that spans over the past handful of months. As well as proof of them intending on doing it to me again because of a previous unsuccessful assignment (that was outside of my control) to “make up for it”. I really feel like I owe these people nothing, and I have a lot more dirt on them than they ever would on me. (like tax fraud and tax evasion)
