At first we thought it a hawk but whatever it is keeps eating all of the breast meat on one side. I’ll spare you the photos - they are very graphic.
Happening between 4-8am, feathers aren’t scattered far, head still attached, meat eaten from the side not the top. We have a fenced in one acre yard in the middle of a neighborhood near the blue ridge parkway. There are small spaces something could possibly get under - but could a cat do this much damage and eat that much of it? Highly doubt it’s a dog due to the tight squeezes, but I guess it’s possible.
Additionally - are there any reasonable cameras or game cameras we could buy to help catch the thing in the act? 7 chickens to 3…
