The neoliberal parties Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, The Green Party who are now in government together are unsurprisingly pro US and so their policies and actions for one from this. At best they’ll make subs scolding statements about Israel but they’ll oppose anything meaningful.
People Before Profit are outspoken about Israel and have been demanding the expulsion of the ambassador from early on.
Social Democrats have just come around to support for the ambassador’s expulsion.
Sinn Féin, highly expected to lead the next government have been quiet until very recently following a public shaming from PBP. They’d prefer not to rock the boat with the US because unfortunately they’re selling out and have been for a long time. Their voter base have very different opinions but don’t yet realise how badly they’re going to be betrayed following their election.
All parties condemn Israel, support recognising Palestinian statehood, support South Africa’s genocide case.
Saying things like “pro US and so their policies and actions for one from this” and “prefer not to rock the boat with the US” makes it sound like there are pro-Israel political parties in Ireland. There are none.
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have consistently been open, vocal supporters of Israel, as I believe are the Labour party. I don’t know where you’re getting your ideas from.

What are the stances of the different Irish parties on Palestine?

It’s a shame about Sinn Fein. Seems like People Before Profit are the best party in Ireland
It’s just the limits of electoralism. The ruling parties have the media in thrall and constantly run attack pieces against SF and others. Then they crybully when they go over the line and get sued.
This is likely to be misread by non-Irish people.

I’m surprised at the amount of disinfo on Lemmy. Where are you from?

Varadkar: “Israel must reverse its precipitous decision to authorise a land incursion into Rafah. And after 100 years of violence, as you said, the only secure future lies in two states peaceful and sovereign, side by side. Ireland stands ready to recognise a Palestinian state with like-minded partners when it is most helpful for peace.”

Harris is after calling Israel repulsive: https://lemmy.ml/post/14210216
I’m not trying to defend FG, but why are you lying?
Jesus man. You’re going to lie in plain view while saying I’m lying? Are you Israeli or something?
He called actions repulsive, not Israel. And only the actions of a single individual. FFS.
He supports Israel and openly says so. He condemns the Palestinian resistance to its genocide.
Martin went there and famously pointed to a hole in a ceiling and said nothing about the mass murder until very recently.
They still haven’t expelled the ambassador.

Yeah what about it? Six months later they caved to pressure after supporting the genocide. So what?
