    On the one hand I’m glad his conscience finally got the best of him.

    On the other hand he walked as a free man for 48 years after committing a heinous murder. There’s not really a commensurate punishment for that level of depravity.

      I wouldn’t say this pastor had any remorse. According to investigative reports, he was attempting to molest his own children and their friends, he beat Gretchen to death with his fists when she wouldn’t participate in his “solo act”, he participated in the search for her, he lied during multiple police interviews, he presided over his victim’s funeral, he pretended to be a close friend of the family for years, and he moved around the country like someone who was evading consequences of continued pedophilia until newly revealed evidence cornered him 48 years later.

      There’s no indication of a conscience.
