I’ll start - for me, it’s a social lubricant, it works basically in the same way as alcohol, but with way fewer side effects and no hangover in the next day. My alcohol consumption reduced as a result.

For this to work, it’s important to not consume every day, otherwise the desired “lubricant” effects basically disappear.

I know some folks use Kratom very differently for e.g. pain management, what’s your story?

Hi, it’s nice to see there’s a kratom community. Hope it grows, I spent a decent bit of time on the kratom subs.

I’ve been using it for basically MAT. I’m a little over a year clean from fent and benzos thanks to kratom. I have zero cravings, and I don’t feel bad about my use really at all. It’s not soul crushing like the other stuff I was doing, it’s sustainable, and I don’t treat it like a drug ftmp.

I get secondary benefits as well. My body is starting to break down. Years of work and addiction took its toll. Knees shot, all my joints, tooth pain, it helps me get through day to day, a QOL thing.

I find it to be great for mindset and some mild pain management at times. I have friends who swear by it for anxiety and are more regular users than me.

I’m happy so many people have found it a safe alternative to prescription drugs, or anything else really.

I started trying it to reduce my drinking too but found it has varying effects. It’s so frustrating.

I started consuming it about 6 years ago though and my use and reasoning has changed a lot in that time.

Between pain management, mood boost, and honestly just as a break throughout the day. Only 1-1.5g per dose though, but I used to take big doses. RLS is a bitch though so I cut back a lot. Same effects, which at this point are muted and closer to “break time” relief at this point.

I discovered kratom while quitting an anti-depressant. I grew tired of side effects from chemicals and such. However, I knew I needed something to help with anxiety, mood. and depression. So, I searched for a replacement. A google search led me to K. It’s an awesome plant! It has many great benefits.
