My handle gives it away, but I enjoy running. Richmond is beautiful and I have a few places to run that I really enjoy.
Top spot is the Fan. I love the architecture, friendly cars, and people watching.
James River park system is also a favorite. There’s a challenging loop around Forest Hill park that gets me going and then you can head for a quick dip in the river to cool off.
What are your top spots?
I’ve seen cottonmouths at Forest Hill where the lake drains into the river. Hopefully confined to that area, but keep an eye out. I like Belle Isle the most, I like to sprint up to the top using the little path between the lake and covered picnic table area.
Late response, just joined group:
- Buttermilk Trail
- Hollywood Cemetery Riverside Trail
- Brown’s Isle Pipeline (can do this one while doing the Belle Isle Loop and crossover at 14th St. Bridge.
- Pony Pastures Park Trails
I always loved running down Monument, Arthur Ashe Boulevard, and Cary/Main Street.
Better late than never and welcome. Pipeline is good but check the water level first. I think above 5.5 feet it can get a little wet getting onto the pipeline.
