Wouldn’t it be a weird turn of events if most instances would defederate with the original one

Yeah, it’s pretty disgusting. They also don’t allow you to add or edit the slur list, meaning that you can’t add the numerous slurs tankie’s use.
Well that’s disturbing.
Especially since it’s hosted by the devs themselves…
I got caught up in this purge. I called everyone’s favorite lemmy.ml tankie worldnews troll a racist for suggesting I have never been to HK and explained I have family in China and have been many times. That made him big mad. This was after he removed the agency of ten million Ukrainians by suggesting they were CIA shills.
Apparently you are not allowed to express a stake in Chinese society on lemmy.ml. Tankies really hate it when people with actually experience with autocratic regimes burst their circlejerk.
Edit - the modlog shows it was actually over a different comment I guess.
I know virtually nothing about tankies but it sounds like their beliefs are really twisted around and confusing.

Actually according to to modlog I guess the specific comment they removed was a pretty obvious joke “Ok you can fuck right off and go be a degenerate tankie elsewhere but that’s kind of funny ngl.” I just assumed it was the other thread. Didn’t realize you can actually search the modlog not logged in.
I guess they actually just don’t like being called out.
