To clarify, this is accross the whole industry in china. Not just Genshin. (The title makes it sound like Genshin specifically is getting getting these restrictions.

    I’m curious about two things:

    1. Will China gets it’s own version or dailies will be removed from game everywhere
    2. If removed from everywhere does that mean less freemogems or do we get like monthly missions or something

Probably release a China version then you pay extra for the global version that is just as shitty but you get to waste more money gambling, win-win for corporate and gamers alike lol

they already have a china only version of pretty much everything that’s also available overseas. for example, tiktok is less predatory there from what i hear. it feels like they’re trying not to shit where they eat in a way.

Do we know when the new laws will be implemented? I’m really curious where they will bring these kinds of games since it’s such a core mechanic to keep a steady user retention rate

I may be high on copium, but I wish we could get all the primogens we’d otherwise obtain by completing the maximum number of daily commissions permittable per patch via an in-game message that expires after a patch is over; that daily, battle-pass missions were scraped and the cumulative amount of points that completing them grants was distributed across weekly ones; and that the resin cap was increased to a week’s worth of resin, if not removed entirely in favour of the distribution of fragile resin by mail.
