I’m not clear how the government thinks asking the automotive industry is going to help. Wouldn’t they be trying to get aa much export business as they could anyway?

I’m not sure what the export taxes on automotive or other regulations exist, but limiting them is about the only thing I can think politicians could actually do to help.

The European market would be a potential client, but the Indian Government did not manage to come to a trade agreement with EU. EU says the negotiations were stopped because of insurmountable differences.

any recommendation where to read about this? By chance are the insurmountable differences as @CCL@links.hackliberty.org indicated being based on protectionist tariffs and taxes?

      edit: fixed spelling errors

I didn’t realize this post would stay here with. _deleted by creator I more often use fediverse platforms like GNU Social and Mastodon on which it is better to DELTE & RE-DRAFT than to EDIT if there are no comments, favourites, etc. for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that GNU Social doesn’t support EDIT. If anyone is following @India@lemmy.ml from a GNU Social instance, they wouldn’t see my edit.

My only difference between the two comments was correcting the way /u/CCL@links.hackliberty.org was mentioned to fix the formatting.
