What’s lined up for today - or for the weekend then?

For me, on the plus side: pizza tonight.

On the minus side, I just had to update an address, which ended up involving installing an app which PLAYED MUSIC at me in the play store before even installing it. When did that become a thing?? Needless to say, it did not go down well with the SO.

What the hell kind of app does that? I mean, I never have my phone volume turned on so maybe they’ve been doing it for ages but that’s a new one on me!

It’s been a very busy and stressful week and it’s gone pretty well, but I’ve been rewarded for it with a migraine. Feeling a bit better today than yesterday, but still not great. And I have a ridiculous amount of prep still to do ready for going on holiday this time next week, plus have fallen behind on work emails as per usual.

On the bright side, most of the clothes I’ve been making for said holiday are done and there’s just one more dress to go which I’ll maybe get a chance to knock out over the weekend.

Last weekend was a writeoff in terms of my gamedev side project, so hoping to make some progress on that this afternoon if my head will allow it.

And I am so grateful for my husband sometimes. He’s decided that tomorrow we should have an unscheduled burrito night! We normally only do burritos when we do our couple of LotR marathons a year, so I inextricably associate them with Middle Earth. But we’ll dig up some DVD extras on YouTube or something and watch those to keep it on theme.

So overall I think today is both Friyay AND Frinay, but my plan is just to keep chugging tea and painkillers until it sorts itself out.

Got to finish building my wood shed. Maybe paint it if the rain will hold off. Son has a boxing tournament tonight, not sure how that will go…

Son’s 14th birthday, still need to grab a card. He got caught out doing something exceptionally stupid yesterday (teenager shit), and not sure if it’s a chat to have with him on his birthday or to wait. Obviously the longer it’s left the less impact it will have. But Karting tomorrow with him, hopefully that goes well. Trying something called ‘Combat Karts’ this time, whatever that is. Hopefully it justifies it’s rediculous price premium.

In other news, starting to get seriously miffed with this fucking weather. Have only been able to get out for a run once in the last 2 weeks between family stuff. So when I do have the chance it’s either raining or I’m otherwise exhausted. Not to mention that I’ve not been able to get out on the bike for nearly a month now for the same reasons. It’s fucking July for fucking fuck. Out of all the seasons summer is the only one that I can deal with at the best of times.

I’m not looking for the European death rays, just less cold, drab, grey rain. The rest of the world is burning to a crisp and we’re soaking. Fuck, we’ve even literally sprung a leak around the window fitting as a result of the last torrential rain storm.

It’s been pretty nice weather where we are (general Teesside-ish area). Fair bit of rain but plenty of sun in between, been a nice balance of not dying of heatstroke but also still being able to wear shorts for the daily walk.

Sounds like wherever you are has it much worse, fingers crossed it clears up a bit for you. There’s nowt worse than feeling trapped in the house when you need to be out and doing things.

South Tyneside, just up the road! It’s not that we haven’t had any nice weather in July, but the few spots we’ve had have either been exactly when I’m not able to enjoy it.

I wasn’t able to get out for a run/ride, but I did see it as a chance to take the Spitfire to pick up my son. And today was pretty good as well, Combat Karts was great fun.

Lying on the couch trying to work up energy to go make coffee and open the work laptop. I can feel an adhoc holiday coming on.

Not much planned for the weekend. My son is working so I’ve gotta go pick him up tonight and tomorrow night around the back of 10 so can’t even have the nice cider I bought yesterday.

A day snatched from the jaws of work is never a day wasted, that’s for sure.

Apparently our plan for the night is to watch Primer. So though my headache may have faded slightly, it’ll be back soon enough!

Cool. I did rafting at Cardiff International white water a couple weeks ago. Awesome. Was way more of a work our than I was expecting too! Have and great time!
