NGL “Borag Meat Game” sounds fun

A rhythm game with supply chain management would be bomb. Different rhythms at different parts of the line generate different products, and accuracy can control the purity of the final product. The levels could end up making a whole song, and eventually you can get steam engines and digital things to add different sounds. Ooo, and make the savegames MIDI files.

Guess I’m a six foot tall dwarf. Well, I do have over 1600 hours on Factorio, which is pretty dwarfish

So it’s not exactly that, but if you want a rhythm game with some more nuance, Before the Echo is awesome.

You’ve got 3 different screens (mana gathering, spell casting, and enemy attacks) and you need to balance which you’re prioritizing at any time. Mana is needed to cast spells, spells are needed to defeat the enemy, but you need to block their attacks to not lose all your HP. Each one goes different parts of he music, and as a bonus all the music is from Ronald Jenkees.

It’s old, and while funny is also sometimes very cringey, but still a terrific bit of fun.

Captain Carrot, as a captain of industry.

The music could come from the supply chain. Like if Midinous or Nodal had conveyor belts instead of wires.

Or you manage supply chains to keep the beat going pulling sounds from across the kingdom and dropping them in just the right spot to make the preferred song

Do you have red hair? Do you work with a troll and a guy with questionable kinship to the human race? Does your girlfriend turn furry at certain times of the month?

Did your boss come up with a certain socioeconomic theory of boots?

Dragons have neverending arguments about idle games which seem painfully generic and interchangeable to anything on two legs. Swarm Simulator Simulator, Multiversal Paperclips, Urban Dead, that sort of thing. In reality the games are just an occasional distraction, and what they’re really addicted to are those years-long threads of snippy factional elitism about the games. Dragons routinely get banned from MOBA forums for being the absolute worst accounts that technically never break the rules. They bicker about the meta like they’re experts hiding behind toons. They have literally never played the game.

Liches are the ones getting wound-up by dragons in all those forums. Unironic edgelords with giant signatures and arcane medals below their ooh-so-spooky avatars. Any account created a week after the game launched, chewing out some friendly newbie for not knowing something the developer mentioned once on IRC, then getting tilted when a lizard-themed sockpuppet incorrectly nitpicks their grammar? Lich. They are of course the most toxic players in any game they hyperfixate on, because they’ll never, ever get banned. Through unnatural rituals like privately befriending the programmers, they are beyond consequence. They can still be spotted on chan boards saying shit that no mortal moderator could excuse. Ironically none of them play Urban Dead because they consider the revival mechanics insensitive.

Fairies are the squeaky shit-talkers in hypercompetitive shooter lobbies. They are genuinely terrifying where twitch reactions matter. Fairies can rinse through Nuketown with twin shotguns while playing on DK Bongos. Their contentious relationship with humanity arises primarily from not respecting any strategy besides “Rush B.”

Dark Elves fucking love Among Us. Any backstabbing accusatory “social deduction” game is right up their alley. Dark Elves have GMod Murder variants where there is only one innocent and you win by killing them last.

Tabaxi committed like half the funding for Star Citizen. Any game with exploration and arbitrage makes their pupils go wide.

Warforged adore racing games because they don’t understand there’s a little man inside the car.

Vampire visual novels are the trashiest purple fanfiction on the internet. Vampires support an industry you’d swear was taking the piss, but they can literally smell insincerity. Some extremely old money goes to teenagers and spinsters with incomprehensibly naive views of romance. Somehow they build the most meticulously-crafted storylines imaginable. Popular streamers occasionally play these as a joke, and the utterly gripping emotional intensity can turn them into “RenPyFields.”

Half-elves are too busy stanning HoloLive to play games.

Kobolds play minion based puzzle games, where individual units are super expendable. Pikmin, Lemmings, Overlord, etc.

Gnomes have incredibly realistic flight simulators and spreadsheet management sims life Football Manager and Eve

Dragonborn lack a well defined cultural niche so they get nothing.

Dragons: Very much enjoy hard metroidvanias and soulsbornes for the absolutely immense amount of stuff you can collect, replayability, and generally godlike power you end up with. Sapphire Dragons specifically are also not allowed to go anywhere near Factorio, because they’ll forget to eat and sleep while playing it.

Gnome culture is being obscenely good at Kobold Kerbal Space Program. Kobold culture is farming alt accounts on popular online games for their dragon.

Leonin exclusively play games on the nintendo wii that use the motion controls (Wrist straps are for weenies, fragile objects beware). There is an entire Kenku industry for Wii repairs and reproductions.

Felkin play minecraft and or jackbox, not because they’re good at it but because they’re some of the only games where you can absolutely guarantee that there will be support for a race with no opposable thumbs AND several friends to play with. Likely to own the world’s most well-used spare controller for guests.

Tieflings play incredibly difficult platformers with undertones of self-acceptance, overcoming inner struggle, and learning to have self-worth. In other words, Celeste. I don’t make the rules around here.

I want to try a dwarf Grand Strategy game. I’d probably be lost for my first 1000 hours, but I think it’d still be fun to try.

Not going to lie, as an outsider before checking the community name, that title made me do a double- (more like quadruple-) take. Thanks for a mood boost at 0150 AM.

Out of context headlines about this are always great. I remember back on Reddit things like “Should prison sentences differ by Race?” (Since like, Elves live longer than Humans live longer than Goblins on average), or “If you could eliminate one race, what would it be?” (referring to autosport). Have to assume it’s intentional for many

Mortals cannot comprehend dwarven grand strategy games.

Dwarves are mortal. So they don’t comprehend their own games?

Count me in for the dwarven minecraft with better physics, I would love to mix in some magic stuff to allow for floating fortresses and trying to figure out how to make a suspension bridge over to it would be a lot of fun, bonus points if it could reach base level architectural engineering

    Angband…

Has the most unintuitive UI, turn based battles may sometimes take a really long time. Andit’s pretty long (because it’s hard)
