Hi everyone, Im just curious what it would take to import a kei truck to denmark(honda acty) from Japan. Whats the tax, what about insurance, inspection and weight taxes, is it even possible to make it legal if its left hand drive? Maybe someone has one? I dont really know all of the laws on cars here because i moved here a 1 month ago, so any input would be greatly appreciated.:)

Thank you!

Pre brexit it was not uncommon to import Japanese cars via the uk, as if it was approved in the uk it would legal in Denmark and then brexit happened.

Expect to pay a lot for it. Is it because you are moving to Denmark? Could be just cheaper to sell it in Japan and buy a used car in Denmark.

I can’t help you since I’m on the other side of the planet but I’m curious if there’s a Kei or Honda Acty group in the fediverse?

You’ll have to check if one has been imported before. If not, there’s a whole type approval process it needs to undergo. An easier way is to import it to then from another European country first due to harmonization rules.
