There seems to be federation issues with Lemmy.world.
Example 1:
- From Reddthat: https://reddthat.com/post/14960219?scrollToComments=true - 1 upvote, 0 comments
- From LW: https://lemmy.world/post/12730673 - 6 upvotes, 1 comment
- https://lemm.ee/c/avatar@lemmy.world - 6 upvotes, 1 comment
- https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/12012824?scrollToComments=true - 6 upvotes, 1 comment
Example 1:
- https://reddthat.com/post/14956435 - 19 comments
- https://lemmy.world/post/12726242 - 32 comments
- https://lemm.ee/post/25750393 - 32 comments
The problem I’m seeing with lemmy.world is that 95% of the posts and comments show as having a vote total of 0. Is it possible the federation protocol transmits votes separately from posts, and those messages are backlogged? I’m not up for reviewing the protocol right now but it’s the only plausible explanation I can think of. It also seems horribly inefficient if new posts and comments need a separate update even for the one upvote everything gets by default.
