Also you can browse FB marketplace without an account. I have my roommate do the deed if I really need something, like a car this year, but most of the time I don’t bother.
There are friends that only use messenger to communicate and you need Facebook to use it. That and marketplace are the only reasons I use it.

Craigslist still exists, is still free, doesn’t sell your data, and will get you a dozen responses within minutes of posting.
