Start of the race. I got a good run. T1 is pretty wide open but I know it’s going to go 3-wide and so I stick to the inside. But that doesn’t matter when the server thinks I’m a bit further to the left than I was. Poor pink car gave up after this.

I imagine these incidents in this game are like the weird bugs in Skyrim to elder scrolls fans

Well, all sims I’ve used got different versions of the same problem. Networking for cars going fast is always a challenge. In AC a while train of cars got wiped out because one car jittered all over the place and collision physics are still active. in iRacing the laggy cars just vanish and then you have to kinda just predict where it might be when the lag stops. At least there are not as many “my planet needs me” scenarios like on AC/ACC.

I haven’t ran into many net code issues on iracing but I am pretty new to the service, out of curiosity do you have a server for your country or do you normally have a higher ping when this occurs? I’m curious if there are ways to mitigate this happening besides just having less wheel to wheel racing unless necessary.

In this case it was most likely upload packet loss on my end. My router is not available for me to mess with and I get random spikes at times. Pretty sure the EU servers were used for this race, as I don’t see many americans in the SR10 races. As for mitigation, not much you can do other than minimizing use of WLAN and making your router prioritize the iRacing traffic via QoS features.
