With homes almost beyond reach for all but the luckiest, it’s becoming a truth universally acknowledged that a potential partner’s housing situation has once more begun to have an outsized impact on their romantic suitability
My dating pool largely consists of wealthy women who have no interest in dating any man who isn’t significantly wealthier than them. Hence my city has one of the highest singles rates in the country. Part of how they are so wealthy is that their parents bought them real estate in their 20s, or paid their rent for them. The financial entitlement make zero sense to me, but I’m a working-class person who paid for my own schooling and never got a dime from my parents as an adult.
I make a 80th percentile income… and the vast majority of ladies I meet reject me based on the fact I’m not making 2-3x what I make, and that I don’t have 7-8 figures in assets. It’s insanity.
Generally if I want to meet someone with more middle-class expectations… I have to date an hour or more outside the urban center where I live. Also, I own a place, but since it’s not a beach-front luxury 2000sq unit… it’s considered ‘shit’ on my dating market. It’s a modest 2bed that’s 900sq ft.
