      Of course. In large swaths of the country they’re taught that he’s a full on terrorist. Which to be fair isn’t really entirely inaccurate, but certainly none of the nuance is there. That he was a horrible monster who was put down gloriously by their hero. That’s certainly how it was when I was in school. I’ll give you one guess what they said the Civil War was about the same time.

    I went to a cracker barrel as it was the only place open driving from Atlanta to New Orleans. It was the saddest place I’ve ever been to.

    Staff were laconic, service was bad, they were out of lots of common menu items, place was almost empty of customers.

    “why is this place so weirdly depressing” I wondered and looked up the Google reviews of the place

    turns out the local community were protesting the place for over working a pregnant employee until she had a miscarriage.

    Only I could dine at the Aborted Fetus Depression Cracker Barrel
