Animals are protected under animal rights laws, but when it comes to killing insects, people don’t care about the morality despite the fact they are animals.

I don’t know a lot about it, but don’t insects have consciousness like other animals?

I’m not defending anything, this is just out of curiosity.

    In my understanding of it, no, insects don’t have consciousness because they don’t have a cortex in their brain. They can plan things out but they have no thoughts whatsoever.
