I recently started using a tablet and pen (Wacom Intuos S if you’re curious) for work and I cannot keep track of the pen - it’s slim, black, and blends in with my desk. I know that this is the fountain pen community rather than an ergonomics community, but I bet you all have tips for a pen stand/holder. What do you use to keep your pen(s) close at hand?
A lot of folks are using those cute little crab holders, which are adorable.
If you like big blocks of aluminum, there’s the Karas cubes which are licensed from Dudek
Galen Leather also has several options
Oh, wow, those are cute! https://www.penaddict.com/blog/2022/12/14/ahnitol-crab-pen-holder-review
If cats are more your thing I’ve seen a lot of FP posts with these (or something similar) https://www.amazon.com/ATHAND-Cute-Gifts-Enchating-Accessories/dp/B0BTY3RZJX/ref=sr_1_5]
might be in part because at the Dutch Pen Show they were part of the goodiebag.
Is it terrible that I go looking for a pen holder but find another gorgeous pen that I want? https://www.galenleather.com/collections/wooden-pen-holders/products/uy-design-listen-to-your-heart-brass-pen-stand
I think it’s a Montegrappa something, maybe this Zodiac? https://www.montegrappa.com/en/collections/edizioniregolari/zero-zodiac--1277.html?c=163
I like that stand. Love brass and copper stuff with a vintage feel. Thanks for sharing.
start with having a specific place the pen rests. the actual holder is less important.
I have an Esterbrook 2Go pen cup on my desk. It doubles as a pen cup and a pen case.
But It sounds like you just need a pen cup.
BTW, if you decide to go with one of those weightlifting pen crabs, I’d suggest buying it from Ahnitol, the original Japanese designer. Lots of unliscensed knock-offs out there.
I use a small, 3d printed test tube rack I got off of Amazon. (It was like $10 for two of them.) There are 8 slots that fit pens and sample tubes, so it’s especially nice when I want to fill a pen without knocking everything over.
