Yeah and on top of that, I think its pretty illogical to think that we would spend 105m on Rice and then spend that large again on another player. It would be cool to be proven wrong but that seems like the major signing of the summer.

You are right. Rice is our big spend signing, and Kai + Timber are quality signings that won’t break the bank. They all fit our recent signings to a tee (young, talented, good character).

We realistically should be looking to get rid of players at this point, not spend more. It would be nice to offload Balogun, Pepe, Cedric, Sambi for decent fees to help us recoup some of the 200m we will spend this year.

I’ll genuinely be surprised if we sign anyone else this summer, unless like Partey or Tierney gets a move — and even then in the latter case we might not move into the market.

I don’t see Partey leaving. No one will pay us the fee we will demand , except the Saudis and he shot that down. I’m still worried though as his legal troubles lurk in the darkness.

I haven’t heard much about Tierney lately, so I’m curious what’s going on there. I’d like him to stay so we can have Timber play the inverted role on the right while Tierney bombs up and down the left.

It sounds like both Partey and Tierney may stay now. Especially with Timber coming in now, Tierney could get more starts.
