I tried some time ago to install it but got stuck along the way. I will have to try again to say where.

I havent personally used freedos, but the steps seem pretty clear cut

Download FreeDOS for everyone from here https://freedos.org/download/

Using your VM manager UI, mount the ISO and follow the instructions
